Baseball Recap: Kenston Forest Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Kenston Forest dropped their record down to 11-2 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Amelia Academy Patriots, falling 13-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Kavaliers have suffered since May 9, 2024.

Kenston Forest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tine Sledd, who went 2-for-3 with three runs.

As for Amelia Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9 runs.

On Amelia Academy's side, Aiden Long was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Long has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one double. Amelia Academy is 5-1 when Long posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, Amelia Academy got a massive performance out of Kaivin Dowell, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Dowell has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Roberts, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kenston Forest will head out to take on Life Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Amelia Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Brunswick Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
