Basketball Recap: Plainfield Central Comes Up Short

Plainfield Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Plainfield East Bengals. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bengals earlier this season, when they won 55-48.

Plainfield East found their leader in sophomore Emma Rodgers, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 boards. Rodgers is becoming a predictor of Plainfield East's success: when she posts at least 20 points the team is 2-1 (and 3-24 when she doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Oglesby, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 15 points and seven rebounds.

Plainfield Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-25. As for Plainfield East, their win bumped their record up to 5-25.

Plainfield Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Plainfield East, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 70-22 loss against Benet Academy on the 17th.
