Volleyball Recap: Rhinelander Comes Up Short

Rhinelander extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 24 on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-23. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chequamegon Screaming Eagles. Hodags fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Screaming Eagles since Saturday.

As for Chequamegon, the win got them back to even at 13-13. The game was the first time they have beaten Rhinelander on their court since August 24, 2021.

Emma Litwaitis was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 12 digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Rhinelander has already played their next match (against Prentice), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Chequamegon, they will welcome Phillips at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
