Baseball Recap: McFarland Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when McFarland challenged Delano on Thursday. The Cougars lost 15-5 to the Tigers. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Cris Soto made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Ortega, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

McFarland's loss dropped their record down to 6-8-1. As for Delano, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10.

Coming up, McFarland will challenge Frazier Mountain at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Delano, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Kennedy at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd. The Tigers are facing the Thunderbirds at the right time seeing as the Thunderbirds are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
