Softball Recap: South Knox Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Knox can now relate to. They lost 12-4 to the Linton-Stockton Miners on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Miners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.

Braelyn Gladish was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Cala Charleston was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

South Knox's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Linton-Stockton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

South Knox does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Linton-Stockton, they will face off against Sullivan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Miners' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Arrows have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season.
