Preview: Culver Community Cavaliers vs. Triton Trojans
Culver Community has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Triton Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Culver Community beat South Central by the very same score they won with last week: 40-15.
Meanwhile, Triton stacked a sixth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by North Newton on the road to the tune of 71-6. The win was nothing new for Triton as they're now sitting on three straight.
Cole Shively continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 195 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 passes, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Javan May was another key contributor, picking up 85 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Culver Community's win bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Triton, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Culver Community took a serious blow against Triton when the teams last played back in September, falling 58-6. Can Culver Community avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
