Basketball Game Preview: Tri-County Cavaliers vs. Carroll Cougars

The Tri-County Cavaliers will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Carroll Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tri-County will be strutting in after a victory while Carroll will be coming in after a loss.

Tri-County is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Rensselaer Central. The Cavaliers enjoyed a cozy 62-45 win over the Bombers on Friday. The game was the first time the Cavaliers have beaten the Bombers on their court since November 24, 2017.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tri-County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabe Miller, who went 6-for-11 en route to 14 points and three steals. Clayton Atkinson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten boards.

Meanwhile, Carroll unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lewis Cass on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the Cougars' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Tri-County was dealt a bruising 61-31 defeat at the hands of Carroll when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Thankfully for the Cavaliers, Eli Falkenberg (who shot 58% from the field on his way to 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals) won't be suiting up this time.
