Basketball Recap: Brighton Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

Brighton won the last time they faced Olympus and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Brighton Bengals came out on top against the Olympus Titans by a score of 47-39. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bengals.

Brighton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sophie Nielsen, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. That's the most rebounds Nielsen has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Oneal, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 boards.

Brighton was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Olympus only racked up seven assists.

Despite the loss, Olympus still got an impressive performance from Joss Baker, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Baker's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Ava Jorgensen also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Brighton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Olympus, their record now sits at 9-8.

Coincidentally, Brighton and Olympus will both be playing Alta the next time they take the court. Olympus will host Alta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Brighton will host them at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th.
