Volleyball Recap: Brockton Boxers vs. Barnstable Red Hawks

Brockton was the 3-0 winner over Barnstable when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Boxers fell just short of the Red Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. While the Boxers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Red Hawks 25-17 in the first set.

Brockton wouldn't go down easily and took Barnstable into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking 12-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-14, 25-22, 21-25, 15-3.

Dave Saintilus paced Brockton's offense, picking up 12 kills. Saintilus got some help from Ryan HaRalstead and his 22 assists. Furquan Biodun-lawal controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Brockton's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Barnstable, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5.

Brockton has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Silver Lake Regional on the 9th. As for Barnstable, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Quincy on the 9th.
