Baseball Recap: Glasgow Takes a Loss

If Glasgow was feeling good fresh off their 11-2 takedown of Allen County-Scottsville on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Scotties fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Scotties were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 11-2.

Glasgow saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Huston Haynes, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

The defeat snapped Glasgow's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-13-1 record. As for Allen County-Scottsville, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-13.

Looking ahead, Glasgow will host Greenwood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Gators' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Scotties' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Allen County-Scottsville, they will head out on the road to take on Westmoreland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
