Football Game Preview: Nanih Waiya Warriors vs. Sebastopol Bobcats

Nanih Waiya is a perfect 4-0 against Sebastopol since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Warriors will square off against the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Nanih Waiya will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Nanih Waiya lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Noxapater, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 41-16 margin over the Tigers on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won three matchups by 25 points or more so far this season.

Korben Sanders produced another solid effort rushing for 174 yards and two TDs. He has become a key player for Nanih Waiya: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. The Warriors also got help from Sanjiya Hickman, who showed off his sure hands for 107 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Nanih Waiya was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 222 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Nanih Waiya didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kade Massey and Hickman. Kurtis Austin was another major factor on D, making nine total tackles (5.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Sebastopol beat McAdams 28-18 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won eight in a row.

Sebastopol's win came from a few key players Nanih Waiya will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dannon Jenkins, who rushed for 100 yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Samarion Jones, who rushed for 109 yards.

Sebastopol picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Nanih Waiya, their record is now 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Nanih Waiya against Sebastopol in their previous meeting back in September of 2018, as the team secured a 39-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
