Stony Brook dropped their record down to 19-5-1 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Poly Prep Country Day Blue Devils by a score of 3-2. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Devils earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

As for Poly Prep Country Day, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games.

For Poly Prep Country Day's part, Miguel Sime Jr. tossed a big game, striking out 13 batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Sime Jr. has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
