Football Recap: Etowah Comes Up Short

Etowah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost to the Alexandria Valley Cubs at home by a 40-22 margin. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Valley Cubs are ranked 52nd).

Etowah's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Alexandria, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Looking ahead, Etowah will welcome Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will be up against the Golden Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.67 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Alexandria, they are taking a road trip to challenge Munford at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Monqre Morris Jr (Mj) and Javier Curry.
