After a string of 14 wins, Columbia Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Columbia Central Lions. The match marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Columbia Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Ayers, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases. Jax Jones also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Columbia Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Columbia Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia Academy will take on University School of Nashville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Columbia Central, they will challenge Lincoln County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
