Baseball Recap: South Panola Find Success

While South Panola's victory against Olive Branch wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Conquistadors 8-7. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Conquistadors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Charlie Bowlin looked comfortable as he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Owen Roebuck and Carlos Robinson Jr did most of the damage at the plate: Roebuck went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Robinson Jr scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Robinson Jr is becoming a predictor of South Panola's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarion Ingram, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

South Panola's record now sits at 13-8. As for Olive Branch, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-11 record this season.

Coincidentally, South Panola and Olive Branch will both be playing Lake Cormorant the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face Lake Cormorant at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Conquistadors will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
