Whitinsville Christian comes up short despite Caleb Deters' dominant performance

It was a good run, but the Whitinsville Christian Crusaders unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 51-37 bruising from Douglas. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Whitinsville Christian has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Whitinsville Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Caleb Deters. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points. Deters scored a full 35.1% of Whitinsville Christian's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Cam Desmarais, who scored seven points.

Adam Dunphy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Douglas, scoring 18 points. The matchup was Dunphy's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Howard, who scored ten points.

Whitinsville Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Douglas, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-4.

Whitinsville Christian will head out on the road to face off against Sutton at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sutton and Whitinsville Christian are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Douglas, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Hopedale at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Hopedale is ranked 183rd, while Douglas is ranked 165th).
