Basketball Recap: Somerset Gets Big Victory over Higher-Ranked Belton

Somerset's tournament run continued when they took on Belton on Thursday. The Somerset Bulldogs secured a 56-51 W over the Belton Tigers. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bulldogs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while the Tigers are ranked 39th).

Somerset's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Belton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-2.

Somerset won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cedar Park at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Belton, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Belton Tigers challenge the Elgin Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
