Recap: Marlboro Academy Dragons vs. Florence Christian Eagles
If the Marlboro Academy Dragons were riding high off their 30-7 takedown of Lowcountry Prep last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Marlboro Academy took a hard 24-9 fall against Florence Christian on Tuesday. Marlboro Academy lost against Florence Christian in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-29 score last time.
Florence Christian found their leader in underclassman Emerson Poston, who scored 6 points along with 13 steals and 6 assists. Another player making a difference was Demi Greene, who scored 7 points along with 3 steals.
Marlboro Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Florence Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marlboro Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Scotland Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on December 12th. As for Florence Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Laurence Manning Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
