Softball Game Preview: Lexington Yellowjackets vs. East Davidson Golden Eagles

Lexington hasn't had much luck against East Davidson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Yellowjackets will head out to face off against the Golden Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lexington is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 24-9 to Thomasville. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Yellowjackets have suffered against the Bulldogs since March 29, 2019.

E'Kayla Huntley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Tiana Hopkins, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, East Davidson fell victim to East Forsyth and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 15-0. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lexington's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for East Davidson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Lexington might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from East Davidson in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
