Softball Recap: Alton Comes Up Short

Alton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 12-2 to the Mascoutah Indians.

Laci Fischer was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Alton's loss dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Mascoutah, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Alton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-1 defeat against Civic Memorial on the 24th. As for Mascoutah, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-4 victory against Belleville West on the 24th.
