Baseball Recap: Ezekiel Academy Comes Up Short

Ezekiel Academy managed to slip by Heritage Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Ezekiel Academy Knights lost 11-1 to the Heritage Christian Angels on Tuesday. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Angels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Jude Easterling was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ezekiel Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zeke Mills, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That's the most hits Mills has posted since back in April of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Ezekiel Academy and nudges their season record down to 1-11. As for Heritage Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ezekiel Academy will head out to face off against East Central HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Heritage Christian, they will take on Victory Christian at 5:30 p.m. on March 25th. Heritage Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so Victory Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
