Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Makayla Williams and Bella Nelson Lead Morgan to Victory

Morgan's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They strolled past the Juab Wasps with points to spare, taking the game 70-52. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 72-58 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Leading Morgan to victory were Bella Nelson and Makayla Williams. Nelson shot 4-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double with 22 points and 11 steals, while Williams went 9-for-17 to rack up 25 points in addition to six boards and four steals. What's more, Williams also posted a 57% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Zoe Rockenfield, who posted ten points and five assists.

The win got Morgan back to even at 1-1.

Morgan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-52 loss against Wasatch on the 21st. As for Juab, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-42 defeat against Juan Diego Catholic on the 21st.
