Basketball Game Preview: Plainview Bears vs. Madison County Tigers

The Plainview Bears are taking a road trip to challenge the Madison County Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Plainview is coming into the match hot, having won their last 12 games.

If Plainview beats Madison County with 75 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Plainview claimed a resounding 75-35 win over Kate Duncan Smith DAR. The Bears have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Madison County entered their tilt with Ardmore on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They greeted the New Year with with a 73-57 victory over the Tigers. Given Madison County's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 176th, while Ardmore is ranked 354th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Plainview pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.5 points per game. As for Madison County, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Everything went Plainview's way against Madison County in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, as Plainview made off with a 76-53 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Plainview since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
