Basketball Game Preview: St. John's Jesuit Titans vs. St. Mary's Prep Eaglets

The St. John's Jesuit Titans will square off against the St. Mary's Prep Eaglets at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in St. John's Jesuit's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.

St. John's Jesuit is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Waite 77-40. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Indians are ranked 751st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's Prep slipped by Northview 49-48 on Saturday. The 49-point effort marked the Eaglets' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

St. John's Jesuit has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.9 points per game. As for St. Mary's Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 11-6.

St. John's Jesuit and St. Mary's Prep were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but St. John's Jesuit came up empty-handed after a 54-53 loss. Can St. John's Jesuit avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
