Basketball Recap: West Trojans vs. Clifton Cubs
The West Trojans won the last time they faced the Clifton Cubs, and things went their way on Friday too. West came out on top against the Cubs by a score of 45-28 (the very same score they lost by the week prior). Given West's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Cubs are ranked 570th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the defeat, Clifton saw an underclassman step up: Avary Woosley scored 13 points.
West has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 20 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 26-3 record this season. As for Clifton, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 17-13.
West will take on the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clifton, they will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Maypearl will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
