While Shelby put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Highland Tech. The Golden Lions claimed a resounding 90-0 win over the Rams. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Lions in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won five in a row.

Lan Farmer had an outrageously good game as he threw for 229 yards and five touchdowns while completing 88.2% of his passes. That's the most passing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. Jaylen Tate was in the mix as well, providing Shelby with two scores.

Shelby didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Highland Tech to a completion percentage of just 40%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from three players: Haezakui Norris, Cahari Corry, and Tyler Camp, who each logged one passes deflected. Shelby wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 89.5%.

Shelby's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Highland Tech, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Shelby didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 49-14 victory against West Lincoln on the 12th. As for Highland Tech, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 35-0 defeat against Cherryville on the 12th.
