Softball Recap: Station Camp Extends Road Winning Streak to Eight

Station Camp came tearing into Friday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Struthers Wildcats. With that win, the Bison brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Station Camp got a massive performance out of Lilly Shearer, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Shearer a new career-high. Presley Kouba was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Station Camp always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

Station Camp's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Struthers, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Coincidentally, Station Camp and Struthers will both be playing Weir the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will head out to face the Red Riders at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bison will host them at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
