Acalanes had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 7-8 to make it five. They came up short against the Alhambra Bulldogs, falling 20-4. The Dons were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.
Santana Tamayo made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. June Natal was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
As for Alhambra, they moved to 9-7-1 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Alhambra's side, Alyssa Powers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, Powers posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Alhambra got a massive performance out of Adalyn McCoy, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Those three RBI gave McCoy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hailey Powers, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
