Volleyball Recap: Cannelton Comes Up Short

Cannelton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Crawford County Wolfpack. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Cannelton took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-12, 25-14.

Arianna Hulse paced Cannelton's offense, picking up six kills. Hulse got some help from Abigale Jones and her four assists.

Leading Crawford County to victory were Sylvia Ferriell and Makayla Drennen. Ferriell had seven digs and two aces, while Drennen had three aces.

Cannelton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Crawford County, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season.

Cannelton has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Evansville Christian on the 8th. As for Crawford County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Eastern on the 6th.
