Baseball Recap: Calhoun Takes a Loss

Calhoun and Needville squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Calhoun had to settle for second. They fell 6-1 to the Bluejays. The loss continues a trend for the Sandcrabs in their meetings with the Bluejays: they've now lost eight in a row.

Calhoun saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Demetrio Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 14-14-1. As for Needville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Calhoun beat Needville by a score of 8-2 on Saturday.
