Volleyball Recap: Denison Yellow Jackets vs. Lovejoy Leopards
Denison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Lovejoy Leopards. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Leopards this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
While Denison was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Lovejoy's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-15, 25-18.
Among those leading the charge was Avery Gray, who had 13 digs and three aces. Those three aces gave her a new career-high.
Denison's loss dropped their record down to 13-21. As for Lovejoy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-10 record this season.
