Calvary Day extended their postseason success on Thursday against Whitefield Academy. They blew past the WolfPack 15-6. Considering the Cavaliers have won 16 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Ryan Wallace and Cutter Powell were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Wallace tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Powell struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. At the plate, Wallace went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Powell went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Dalton Kelley was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs and two doubles. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Dawson, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Calvary Day has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Whitefield Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-10.
