Smith took an 18-set loss the last time they faced off against Taft, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Golden Eagles 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Smith's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Taft, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Smith will take on Law Government & Justice at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Taft, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against South Bronx on the 27th.
