Softball Recap: San Jose Comes Up Short

After flying high against Yerba Buena on Friday, San Jose came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Gunderson Grizzlies by a score of 15-14 on Wednesday. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 13-1 to the Grizzlies when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

San Jose's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Gunderson, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Coming up, San Jose is taking a road trip to challenge Overfelt at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Gunderson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Independence at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Grizzlies are on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the 76ers a five-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
