Baseball Game Preview: Kings Christian Crusaders vs. Avenal Buccaneers

The Kings Christian Crusaders will venture away from home to square off against the Avenal Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kings Christian is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Kings Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Farmersville and fell 9-8.

Jasiah Zamaripa made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Ortega, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Avenal was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 20-3 to Granite Hills. That's two games in a row now that the Buccaneers have lost by exactly 17 runs.

Kings Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-1. As for Avenal, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Kings Christian suffered a grim 12-5 defeat to Avenal when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can Kings Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
