Basketball Recap: Salisbury Hornets vs. North Lincoln Knights

Salisbury had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They secured a 77-73 W over the North Lincoln Knights.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Salisbury to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jon Ross, who almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Taylor, who posted 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carter Abernethy, who shot 48% from the field on his way to 24 points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Beckett Rinkus, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

North Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Salisbury has already played their next game, a 76-64 win against Pine Lake Prep on the 29th. As for North Lincoln, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Alexander Central at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
