Football Recap: Granby Memorial/Canton Skates Past Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Rockville, Granby Memorial/Canton was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 41-0 win over the Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby Raiders. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Granby Memorial/Canton's defense and their seven sacks. Leading the way was Tristan Jackson with 3.5. Jackson is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season.

The win got Granby Memorial/Canton back to even at 2-2. As for Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Granby Memorial/Canton will challenge rival CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy] at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Bears 13.5, the Eagles 12.5) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Windsor Locks/Suffield/East Granby is set to face off against their familiar foe Sports & Medical Sciences Academy/Bulkeley/Classical Magnet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
