Softball Recap: Brooks' Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Brooks dropped their record down to 11-7 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Kennedy Crusaders, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, with their most recent loss being a 9-8 defeat back in April.

Brooks saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amaya Estrada, who went 2-for-3 with two triples and one run. Those triples marked the first that Estrada has hit this season.

As for Kennedy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-8-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.

On Kennedy's side, Ilanni Reyes tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaylie Gallas, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Yesenia Valdez, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

As of now, neither Brooks nor Kennedy have any future games scheduled.
