Soccer Game Preview: Natrona County vs. Riverton

The Natrona County Mustangs will head out to face off against the Riverton Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Natrona County has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 5.

Natrona County is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Wyoming's top teams: Green River, who was ranked 12th at the time (Natrona County was ranked 21st). The Mustangs fell just short of Wolves by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. Natrona County fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against Green River since on Saturday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Riverton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Star Valley 2-1 on Friday. Riverton found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: three Riverton players were handed yellow cards.

Hunter Saltsgaver was the driving force of Riverton's attack as he scored both of Riverton's goals, bringing his season total up to six goals.

Natrona County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Riverton, their record now sits at 4-6-2.
