Baseball Recap: North Rock Creek Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but North Rock Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Chandler Lions 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since March 17th.

Hasten Conley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Conley was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mavrick Wingo, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

North Rock Creek is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. Chandler's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2.

North Rock Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against Chandler: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
