Basketball Recap: Justus Bell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Spring Valley

While Dutch Fork didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They strolled past the Spring Valley Vikings with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 54-36. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 70-47 last Tuesday.

Dutch Fork got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Justus Bell out in front who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points. Bryson Taylor was another key player, putting up 12 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Dutch Fork and bumps their season record up to 7-3. As for Spring Valley, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-5.

Dutch Fork wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 66-48 win against Newberry on the 21st. As for Spring Valley, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sumter at 8:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
