You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for McDonogh on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Gilman Greyhounds out of the water with a 31-0 final score. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Greyhounds: they've now won seven in a row.

Braeden Palazzo was his usual excellent self, rushing for 55 yards and a pair of TDs, while also throwing for 211 yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Carlos Ferguson was another key player, picking up 123 receiving yards and one score.

McDonogh didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Gilman to a completion percentage of just 34.8%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Jansen Craig and Matthew Tees, who each logged one passes deflected. McDonogh wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 52%.

McDonogh didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Caden Cashman. McDonogh received some extra help from Nick Abrams II, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

McDonogh's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Gilman, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

McDonogh has already played their next contest, a 24-14 victory against St. Mary's on the 7th. As for Gilman, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 35-8 defeat against Archbishop Spalding on the 7th.
