Bethlehem took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Central Hardin, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles/Banshees came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bruins on Monday, sneaking past 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Eagles/Banshees: when they faced off against the Bruins back in April, they had to take a 8-1 defeat.

Emmalee Hettinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bethlehem's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Luckett, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Paige Miller was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Bethlehem is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-16 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Central Hardin, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 23-15.

As of now, neither Bethlehem nor the Bruins have any future games scheduled.
