Basketball Recap: Youngsville Academy Charter Takes a Loss

Youngsville Academy Charter lost against Heritage Leadership Academy back in November and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Firebirds might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Fletchers an easy 61-38 win. The Firebirds were down 50-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the loss, Youngsville Academy Charter still got an impressive performance from Ayden Perry, who posted 18 points and six rebounds. Amari Strickland was another key player, putting up eight points and 11 boards.

Heritage Leadership Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Winders, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Eli Huston, who earned eight points in addition to nine boards and four blocks.

Youngsville Academy Charter's record now sits at 0-4. As for Heritage Leadership Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-6 record.

Coincidentally, Youngsville Academy Charter and Heritage Leadership Academy will both be playing Iron Academy the next time they take the court. The Firebirds will host the Swordsmen at 4:30 p.m. on January 13, 2026, while the Fletchers will host them at 5:15 p.m. on January 15, 2026.
