Recap: Beatrice Orangemen vs. Norris Titans
The Beatrice Orangemen pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-56 bruising from Norris. While losing is never fun, Beatrice can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Titans are ranked fourth).
Norris found their leader in underclassman Chris Garner Jr., who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Garner Jr. has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played. Evan Greenfield was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Beatrice and nudges their season record down to 4-9. As for Norris, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-1.
Beatrice will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Warriors. Norris is on the road again on Friday and plays the Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
