Basketball Game Preview: Kiowa Indians vs. Elbert Bulldogs

Kiowa is 1-9 against Elbert since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Kiowa Indians will welcome the Elbert Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

Kiowa is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Simla on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Kiowa was outmatched by Simla and fell 59-14. The contest marked the Indians' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Elbert waltzed into their match on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They breezed by the Panthers to the tune of 60-23. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 23 points or more this season.

Elbert has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Kiowa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.

Kiowa took a serious blow against Elbert in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 61-22. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Kiowa was down 37-4.
