Softball Recap: Laney Gets the Win

Laney posted their closest win since March 10th on Thursday. They never let the West Brunswick Trojans get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in March.

Brileigh Mathews was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025.

Laney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of 1.000. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Laney's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for West Brunswick, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 9-4.

Laney wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 17-3 victory against Ashley on the 14th. As for West Brunswick, they have also already played their next game, an 11-0 win against South Point on the 6th.
