Baseball Recap: Tulelake Has No Trouble Against Dunsmuir

Tulelake not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2024. Everything went their way against the Dunsmuir Tigers as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Honkers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won five in a row.

Rafael Hernandez was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hernandez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Tulelake let Osbaldo Hernandez and Kevin Larsen run wild. Hernandez scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2, while Larsen scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Tulelake is 3-1 when Larsen posts two or more runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Porter Smith, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Tulelake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Tulelake's record is now 3-4. As for Dunsmuir, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tulelake beat the Tigers by a score of 8-0 later that day.
