After a string of five wins, Palatine's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mundelein Mustangs.

Brandon Ziebell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Palatine saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Toby Peterson, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Peter Mulhern, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Palatine's defeat dropped their record down to 26-10. As for Mundelein, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-10-2.

Palatine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mundelein, they will take on Stevenson at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
