Basketball Recap: Paradise Honors Sets Scoring Season-High Against Goldwater

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Paradise Honors). They took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging an 84-21 victory over the Goldwater Bulldogs. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 contests by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Morgan Van Dyke, who went 12 of 21 to rack up 28 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards. Van Dyke is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Lizzy Guincho was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 steals.

Paradise Honors smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive matches.

Paradise Honors' win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.8 points over those games. As for Goldwater, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.

Looking ahead, Paradise Honors will venture away from home to take on Greenway at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Paradise Honors' defense has only allowed 27.6 points per game this season, so Greenway's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Goldwater, they will face off against Moon Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
